I am so sorry for your family's loss! 
Norm wasn't a perfect guy, (none of us are) but he was a special person, and was often an encouragement to me, especially during a particularly difficult time at work; not so much by his words, but his positive attitude (Livin' and Lovin' Life!) and the way he responded in difficulty.
I first met Norm while he was working at KWTX, CH39 in Dallas when he requested a demonstration of a new piece of TV equipment manufactured by the company I worked for at the time.  Although he didn't buy, we struck up a good relationship. Nearly a decade later, we both ended up working for the same company in Garland, and both moved to Northern Virginia in the late '90's to continue that work. 
I have many memories of Norm, but I'll just share two. He made the best Banana Pudding I ever put in my mouth! (I had to ask more than once for his recipe, but he finally relented.) Second, no one else could sing the "National Anthem" like Norm. The reverent manner in which he sang and the emotion he exuded  brought a dignity to the song that brought both tears to my eyes and goosbumps to my flesh. 
Thank you Norm Jones for your friendship and your life's example. 
Family, I know you will grieve his loss and miss his presence. So will I.

I meet Norm at the NRO and  Norm and his band played at our Jones Family Reunion in Washington DC about 10 years ago.  We joked about being related. He was a very kind, caring and thoughtful person.  He will be missed.
