Patricia was born on July 29, 1947, in Raysal, West Virginia, to the late James C. Buchanan and Lilliah Blanche Falin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Clarence Buchanan.
Shortly after graduating, Patty moved to Washington, D.C., where she began her career as a telephone operator at Union Station. On August 18, 1966, she married the love of her life, Christopher Lloyd Beavers. Patty later worked as a secretary for the Department of Agriculture until she went out on disability.
Patty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters: Christina Lee Palmateer of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and her husband, Daniel James Palmateer, along with their children, James Christopher and Maddie Mae Palmateer; and Jessica Leigh Waddell of Culpeper, Virginia, and her husband, Bradley Keith Waddell, along with their children, Adleigh Marae and Chase Bryant Waddell.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to Elvis and Ricky Nelson, spending time coloring, and most importantly, being surrounded by her family. Patty had a generous spirit and a heart full of compassion. She would give the shirt off her back to help those she loved, and her kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Patty’s family was her greatest pride and joy, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
