

Ronald Allen Maley, 68, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away at his residence November 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Maley was born October 21, 1947 in Centreville, Virginia to Captain James and Mrs. Lillian Weaver Maley. He was a retired salesperson, having last worked at Chrysler of Culpeper. After retiring, he fulfilled his days by driving a bus for the Culpeper County schools.
He was an extraordinary husband, daddy, brother, uncle, son and grandfather who was known to friends and family as “Ronnie” and “Poppie”. He combined his passion for sports and his devotion for children in avenues of coaching and refereeing sports, particularly baseball, football, softball and basketball. He was a lay speaker for the Methodist Church and an avid Washington Redskins/Washington Nationals fan. Mr. Maley was a true warrior as he bravely and gallantly fought pancreatic cancer.
Surviving Mr. Maley is his wife of 43 years, Alexandra “Sandy” Maley; children, Donald (Sara) Maley, Amissville; Aimee Maley Hoffman (Paul), Amanda Maley, and James Maley, all of Culpeper; siblings, Ruth Maley Kemp (Roger), Greenville, NC; Rebecca Maley DeCecco, Linden, VA; Richard Ashton Maley (Patricia), Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Austin Brookman, Katie Hoffman, Cierra Hoffman, Kierah Groves, Virginia Stickley, Mason Stickley and Alice Maley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Virginia and will be officiated by Major Roger Kemp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be considered and given to Mrs. Alexandra Maley, 310 Duke Street, Apartment #A, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
