Steven Eugene Berry

Steven Eugene Berry, age 41 of Haywood, VA, passed away on January 28, 2014 at UVA medical center due to influenza and pneumonia. He was born on November 10, 1972 in Culpeper, Va. Steve was a loving father, husband, son, and friend. He enjoyed football, playing cards, spending time with his family, nascar, wrestling, music and many other things. Steve has worked as a dj, a correctional officer and a landscaper. He is survived by his father, Robert Eugene Berry, and his mother Sherry Lynn Thornhill and her husband, Jerry Thornhill, his wife Melisa Anne Berry, his daughter Courtney Marie Berry, brothers Scott A. Berry and Shawn C. Berry. Also, his maternal grandmother Peggy Via Hitt, maternal aunts, Sandy Via and Ann Hume, paternal aunts, Cathy Moorefeild and Phyllis Tyler, nieces and nephews Lauren Berry, Lindsey Metzger, Tyler Metzger, and Bella Metzger, cousins Matthew Corbin and Patrick Timmons. Also, his sister-in-law, Jennifer Metzger. Steven is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Via, his paternal grandmother, Hazel Berry, and grandfather, A.L. Berry. Also, by his aunt, June Weakley, and uncles, David Corbin and Danny Berry, and his father-in-law, Richard Petty.

Family and friends will gather Friday, January 31, 2014 for visitation at Clore-English Funeral home in Culpeper, Va from 6pm to 8pm. Service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014. at Clore-English Funeral Home at 11am and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper Va.
