Thomas Joseph Brissette, 87, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at Autumn Care of Madison, Virginia.
Thomas proudly served in the United States Air Force before devoting his life to caring for others. In June of 1970, he became a Licensed Practical Nurse, a profession that reflected his deep compassion and lifelong desire to help people.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvette Rose Brissette, who passed away on May 21, 2004.
Thomas is survived by his four children: Alan R. Brissette, Todd P. Brissette (Nancy), Craig S. Brissette (Elaine), and Cara M. Brissette. He was a proud grandfather to Kadesha Schwoerer and Christopher Winkler, who is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, and a devoted great-grandfather to Nicholas Allen, Kyleigh Schwoerer, and Robert Schwoerer, whom he lovingly called the lights of his life.
A faithful member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Thomas sang in the church choir and volunteered with the Richardsville Rescue Squad, continuing his commitment to service beyond his career. He had an enormous heart for helping others, a deep love for his family, and a special compassion for animals—especially his cherished calico cat, Bella.
· Thomas will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, quirky sense of humor, and the comfort and laughter he brought to those around him.
Arrangements are entrusted to Clore-English Funeral Home of Culpeper. A graveside service will be held at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lignum, Virginia.
