Walter Junior Edward Johnston

Walter Edward Johnston “Junior”, age 90, of Brightwood, VA passed away at his residence, Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Mr. Johnston was born to Walter E. Johnston and Magnolia Smith Johnson August 14, 1921 in Madison County, VA; served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II; retired from VDOT as a lead carpenter after 20 years of service and he enjoyed woodworking and farming.

Surviving Mr., Johnston is his brother, Russell Johnston and his wife Carrie of Brightwood, VA and his nephews, Edward L. Johnston of Brightwood, VA and James Michael Green and his wife Pamela of Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl V. Johnston and his wife, Mary Johnston.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 with Rev. Dallas Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery.
