11/10/1946 – 07/9/2026
Bill was truly one of a kind—a man whose life was defined by devotion, service, and an abundance of love. At the heart of his world was his best friend and soulmate, Janice. Meeting at age 16, they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a beautiful legacy that includes their four children, 22 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his seven nieces and nephews.
A patriot and a servant at heart, Bill dedicated himself to God and country. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, completing two tours in Vietnam. His commitment to service continued throughout his life as a member of both the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight of Council 7369 at St Timothy’s parish in Chantilly VA and as a District Deputy. Bill went on to channel his passion for advocacy into a legal career. As a lawyer, he worked tirelessly to ensure that every individual he represented was treated with dignity, fairness, and justice, no matter their circumstances.
Though his achievements were many, his family will most cherish his gentle spirit. Bill possessed a silent strength, a joyful warmth, and an unwavering patience. He was our “Marshmallow." He carried a quiet confidence and an enduring faith that everything would always work out. He was a talented painter, would join anyone for a game of chess, had a love of cooking for his family and always, passionately cheered on the Washington Redskins. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Martinsburg West Virginia Veterans Administration Medical Center. To honor the family’s wishes all services will be private.
