I was fortunate to know "Will", as we called him, through my sister, Marilla, his daughter-in-law. I knew him mostly as Pop, and he was like a second grandfather to me in many ways. He was always interested in current events, politics, and science, was an avid reader, and I always enjoyed our conversations especially at the holidays. We shared a love of mince pie, so I always made one for him at Thanksgiving. I'll miss you, Pop. I'm saying a novena for you.

Bill was a great next door neighbor for18 years. We spent many hours in our front yards and garages discussing the world situation. Bill was very patriotic and always displayed the American flag on holidays and other special days. We had a little competition going to see who had the flag out first. Bill usually won. My condolences to Jean and the family.
