Two years you've been gone....I miss you Billie Jo.....

It’s hard to believe you’ve been gone for two years.  I can’t express how much I miss you and the conversations we used to have.

Beautiful, kind hearted, loving Queen. Your passing hurts our family in many ways. There’s so much you missed during your captivity that I’m sure You’re just now seeing replayed for you in heaven. O.Z. Has the number 1 bbq restaurant in Sacramento. Zoriya has been the number 1 scholar in her schools and is still being scouted by Ivy League colleges as an 8th grader. Ibrahim is following in his big sisters footsteps as a top scholar as well and has the personality of a future POTUS. And me, well, I own the only black woman owned wine bar in Sacramento. Your legacy will live on through us. You were the perfect example of the strength of a woman. As a single mother you did an excellent job raising your sons to become men. You came through for our family always and never lacked or faltered  when there was an opportunity to support us. They say if you teach a man you fish he’ll eat forever, but if you feed a man fish everyday one day he’ll be hungry and you won’t be able to feed him. I’m greatful you instilled in my husband the wisdom and will to want to learn your recipes. Every day he diligently uses what you taught him to provide for our family and hundreds of families in our community. Whereas others you were only able to feed and sadly  the well will run dry for them I’m sure sooner than later. You blessed us. You did amazing.

So sorry to hear of Billy Jo's passing, we missed her singing in the choir. She had a beautiful voice. My prayers are with the family, may God bless and keep you.

We remember her as a dedicated member of the choir singing in the alto section for many years. She was a member that you could always count on and would do her very best at anything requested of her. May she rest in eternal peace.

From the time I was a little girl, I always ADMIRED you.. YOU were my inspiration,  my heart is overwhelmed.  You were successful and a strong woman. Thank you for teaching me how to speak proper english and introducing me to jazz. I will never forget you.


The moment I found out you were no longer here with us my heart dropped and tears started flowing.  I’ve missed our talks about whatever came to mind and how you always had advice on any situation I had going on - whether big or small. The love you had for your family and you always wanting to plan that next family get together will truly be missed.  I promise to cherish every memory I have of you and will be forever proud to call you my big sister.   



Mom loved Las Vegas. I remember I was sitting next to her and she put two chips on red 23 and she won really big. I took care of her for the past 5 years along with my fiancé Christina. It was very challenging on top of dealing with family drama. I’m glad she is finally at peace and no longer in pain. I love you Mom.
