Chiquita “Chickie” Virginia Lea-Bou, 87, of Playa del Rey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Chickie was being visited and comforted by family members at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA at the time of her passing. Chickie was a talented artist and actress, co-starring in the 1961 film “The Sergeant Was a Lady”. She was also known locally as a painter using a variety of mediums. Beloved mother of Linda Ballard, Michael Lind (Clair), and the late Albert “Jerry” Lind. Dear sister of Ann Anderson (Don), Liv Treanor, and the late Howard Lea-Bou. Loving grandmother of Jason Gambino, Christy Tegano, Heather Lind, and Jade Melcher. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Celebration of Life will be held at Del Rey Hills church on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to P.S. ARTS (www.psarts.org) to honor Chickie’s passion as an artist.
