Christine Elizabeth Turner

Christine Elizabeth Tuner was born on June 12, 1941 to Allen and Elena Mai Kincannon in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She was known by her family as “Lolly” short for Lollipop, a nickname her grandfather gave her. She grew up with her parents, surrounded her grandparents, many uncles, aunts and cousins. She attended Davidson Academy in Tullahoma before her parents relocated to Los Angeles, California. Christine graduated from Los Angeles High School June 1959. She enrolled in college at LA City College majoring in Commercial Art and LA Southwest College and Golden West College in Floral Design. Christine was gifted in all she created. She accredited her ability to imagine by being the only child, entertaining herself and listening to radio programs before television.

Christine worked at a large oil company where she met James (Jimmy) Turner. They married September 12, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Christine and Jimmy purchased liquor stores in Los Angeles where she worked with her husband. They moved to Huntington Beach, where she enjoyed entertaining, living near the beach and traveling. She became involved with fashion shows where she created jewelry. She also designed jewelry for a major department store and boutiques. She also created beautiful floral arrangements, upholstered and crochet everything within her imagination.

Christine and James moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she enjoyed being a housewife until the passing of her husband in 2005. Christine loved watching murder mysteries and the Hallmark Channel while sitting next to her cat. She loved her cat so much that she named her cat with her nickname, Lolly. Her mind stayed sharp by completing crossword puzzles and coloring.

Christine loved reading the Bible and wrote scripture on little notes throughout her home and on her mirrors. Her bible could always be found next to her lounge chair. She would describe Heaven stating; “Can you imagine what God created? Can you imagine how beautiful it’s going to be? I don’t want to miss out on that!”

Christine passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada December 24, 2020. She will be laid to rest with her husband James Turner at Inglewood Park Cemetery in California.
