Clare Farrar passed away on January 31, 2026, leaving a legacy of adventure, warmth, and fierce passion. Born and raised in London, Clare was the beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Ann "Vera" Cody.
She was an intrepid traveller who found magic in both the wilderness and the smallest of moments; whether hiking mountains, travelling off the beaten path, photo-journaling, or simply enjoying a nice cup of tea with friends. A woman of deep principle, she was a vocal advocate for anyone in need of aid, and a dedicated supporter of charities and conservation efforts all around the world. From the mammoth task of fighting for rainforest conservation to the small but mighty one of ensuring that every child had a book to read, Clare spent her time making the world a kinder, brighter place for all.
Clare’s journey took her from London to Dublin to Salt Lake City and Los Gatos, finally settling in Los Angeles. Her greatest pride was her daughter, Anna; Clare recently celebrated Anna’s high school graduation, her acceptance to read English at Trinity College Dublin, and helped get her moved and settled in Dublin to start her studies.
Clare is survived by her devoted, loving husband, Alan; her daughter, Anna; and her siblings, Theresa, Jackie, and John. She is now free to roam the world as she wishes, with her parents at her side.
"Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life—and travel—leaves marks on you."
- Anthony Bourdain
