Until we meet again, Fr. O'Ryan. May you have eternal rest in heavenly paradise. You were so devoted to your faith and calling, and you always, always reminded us how much God loves us. Thank you. I love you. Amen.

Even last year at age 96, as he was walking out of a church celebration in our parish hall, he pulled up a chair to stop and hear someone's confession.

A friend of mine returned to church this year and told me he said to Fr. O’Ryan, “Father, I haven’t been to confession in 35 years.” Fr. O’Ryan replied, “You made my day!” He absolutely loved it when lost sheep found their way back.

RIP, Fr. Colm O’Ryan, my friend and spiritual true north for over 35 years since he came to our parish he cherished - Church of the Good Shepherd, the oldest house of worship in the City of Beverly Hills. He passed away at home and it was during the 12:00 p.m. Mass he often presided over. I was glad to be there - divine order.
