Franklin Michael Davis, known as “Big Mike” to family and friends, passed away Tuesday August 7, 2018 with his wife Lyn, son Michael F. Davis, daughter-in-law Jamie Davis, granddaughters Kennedy and Nicole Davis by his side. Mike was born in Culver City, CA where he resided his entire life. He was the beloved son of Frank W. and Anne E. Davis and brother to Patricia Foster. Mike attended Catholic and Culver City schools. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force as an Accounting and Financial Specialist and served in the Korean Conflict. Mike was honorably discharged from active duty February 29, 1966. Upon his return to Culver City from the military, he worked for Chrysler Corporation. Thereafter he established Mike Davis Flooring Company. Mike worked as a flooring contractor for 44 years, retiring in May of 2013. Big hearted, mild mannered Mike (Lyn’s “Gentle Giant”) was always there for anyone in need. His family was his pride and joy. He was spontaneous, generous, and always ready for fun. Mike, a 54-year member of the Culver City Elks, loved to play golf, go fishing and hunting with his son and friends. Mike is survived by his wife Lyn, his son Michael, daughter-in-law Jamie, granddaughters Kennedy and Nicole Davis, sister Patricia Foster, step-daughter Karla Rezendes (Harley), step-grandson Mathew and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anne Davis, his former wife (Michael’s mother) Nancy Pfefferkorn Davis and her parents Henry and Edith Pfefferkorn.

Mike will be deeply missed. He was a kind-hearted and loving husband, father and grandfather and was never without a kind word and a smile on his face. We will miss you Big Mike.
