Greta Ruth Diaz

Greta Diaz, 81, of West Los Angeles, California passed away January 7, 2014. She is survived by her partner, Roger A. Wagner, her 2 children Al and Pilar and 3 grandchildren, Pablo, Cristina and Roberto. She was born Greta Ruth Edwards on August 12, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa and raised in Carthage, Illinois. She moved to Los Angeles, California in the 1950´s and enjoyed a long life, always proud to be a Californian. She was first married to Alvaro Diaz, Jr. of Bogotá, Colombia. She worked as an executive secretary during her professional career, was a loving and devoted mother and a caring person to all who came into her path. She and her partner traveled the world; she loved people, was a great conversationalist and adored animals. The church was the center of her life; she enjoyed Bible Study and discussions on the scripture. She touched many with her positive anecdotes and good humor. We will miss her greatly, but her light, her positivity and eternal smile will remain with us forever.

A memorial service will be held for her at 2pm on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Andrew´s Lutheran Church on 11555 National Blvd. in West Los Angeles. Arrangements under the direction of Gates, Kingsley & Gates Smith Salsbury Funeral Directors, Culver City, CA.
