Harry Benjamin Stasney age 82 was born in Oklahoma on April 23,1936 and passed to eternal life on April 16, 2019 surrounded by the love of his life, Ma Del Carmen at his bedside at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He was a Culver City resident for 46 years.
Harry Benjamin Stasney was the son of the late Mr.John Joe and the late Mrs.Mildred Marie Stasney. He was the oldest of five children. He grew up in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from Lubbock High School class of "55". He worked his way through Texas Tech University where he majored in Mathematics and Physics. He graduated in 1961 with a BA in Mathematics.
Harry served in The United States Army for six years. He was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia Southeastern Signal School where he specialized in Radio Relay Telephone Communications.
Harry B. Stasney had several of employments throughout his life. He was employed as a teacher by the Lubbock Independent School District where he taught High School Advanced Algebra and Applied Mathematics, and became active in The Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and attended bible class.
Harry joined LTV Aerospace Company as a Master Dimension Mathematician. When the family moved to California he held the same position at Rockwell International B-1 Bomber Division in El Segundo when he accepted employment with Northrop Grumman in Hawthrone. It was as a Numeric Design Engineer in the Advance Technology Bomber Project which evolved into the B-2 Stealth Bomber.
He finally retires from Northrop Grumman after 22 years of service. He was a lover and supporter of classical music. He also played the alto saxophone in the High School and Technical Tech University band. He studied voice as an adult, encouraged by our Culver- Palms United Methodist Church choir director. His hobbies were astronomy, numismatics, amateur ham radio and fortunately for us singing in the choir and occasional solos during church service.
He was a member of The Santa Monica Ocean Airs and South Bay Coastliners Barbershop Chorus. He participated in practice and chow events.
Harry B. Stasney will forever be missed by his wife Ma Del Carmen Stasney and by all who loved him dearly. He loved and trusted God, he was quite ,analytical, compassionate, generous, caring and kind. He was a peace loving man who had joy in his heart. Thank you for being a part of my life it was a privilege.
He will also be missed by his brothers John Jr., Jeffrey Lee and Paul from Texas. Two brother-in-laws Kelly Randolph of Lubbock, TX and Juan Luis Talamantes of Playa Del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico, along with several nieces and nephews.
