May 9, 1960 – March 13, 2011
Jeffrey was born on Mother’s Day to Beverly Ann and Douglas Ralph Johnson and lived with his parents, Nana, sister Kathy (Sassy), and brother Ricky. Kathy was thrilled to have a live “doll” and Ricky now had a younger sibling to torment. Jeffrey often talked about Kathy trying to do him in with baby powder, and Ricky tying him to the top of his 1960 “Mellow Yellow” Chevy to tour the neighborhood from a different view. Jeffrey was born and died in the Culver City home. He was very giving and often helped the neighbors with electronics and handyman tasks. Jeffrey worked for the Culver City Ice Skating Rink, Ham the Zenith Man, Kaiser, Gemco, and Fedco. Jeffrey was married 3 times, but found it difficult to leave his mother’s care to others. He cared for his mother for over 25 years. Jeffrey had many friends who were involved with police enforcement. He had a police motorcycle and became an escort for funerals. Jeffrey had a police scanner going 24/7 and was on top of the community. He knew the neighbors and had formed a special bond with Ron the Sanitation Engineer. “Uncle Jeff” was a favorite of Kathy’s sons Patrick and Eric. Jeffrey often told how they pushed him into their Doughboy Pool by checking out the warm water from the solar cover. The water was freezing under the top layer! Jeffrey was very giving and will be missed by all that knew him. Jeffrey is now in the peace of cyberspace. Jeffrey’s ashes along with his one good dog, Misty, will be spread at sea by his nephew Captain Eric of LACO Lifeguards. Love to you, Jeff, for all time.
