

JoAnn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry L. McFadden, who passed away on August 31, 2011. Larry remained an important part of JoAnn’s life and memories long after his passing.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Nancy Holkenborg (Larry), as well as her niece and nephews: Sandy Nye (Dan), Jon Holkenborg (Denise), and Tim Holkenborg (Michele).
JoAnn pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management with a major in Design and Fine Arts. Her creative spirit was evident in many aspects of her life. She found great joy in painting, photography, and gardening, always appreciating beauty and creativity in the world around her. She was also an avid dog lover.
JoAnn was also known for her talent in finding great treasures at thrift shops and consignment stores. Shopping excursions with her were always an adventure and a fun outing for everyone involved.
JoAnn loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many wonderful places over the years. Wherever she went, she enjoyed searching for the perfect piece of art or a meaningful memento to represent the trip. Her collection of crosses, gathered during her travels, was particularly special to her and reflected the deep importance of her faith.
JoAnn's faith was the foundation of her life. JoAnn was involved in the Assisted Living Ministry at Saddleback Church and an active participant and leader in small groups. JoAnn loved Jesus and wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.
JoAnn will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and gentle spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love that will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
