May happy days spent with my dear friend, John.  God bless his sisterJanet for being there for him.

John;
I remember meeting you for the first time at my grandfather Bishop James Harper's church. My first impression was.."who is this little man whose got everyone smiling and laughing. Come to find out not only were you a long time family friend, but my mother Linda (Harper) Martin's best friend. Getting to know you, I realized God had given you a gift, the ability to change the atmosphere wherever you were. I can remember a phone message you left for mom on our answering machine. "Hello Linda...WONDER BABE! You ended the message with a signiture John Craft ending... "If you don't call me back, may the fleas of a 1000 camels infest your armpits!" To this day we still laugh. That's what you brought to our lives, and infectious smile, quick wit, and an awesome friendship. WE thank God for the time we had and for the lives you touched. We are praying for your family, that God continue to be their peace and strength in this time. Thank you for being a friend to my mother, and to my mother's children. We love you John. My sympathies go out to John's family. I knew John since 1969 when I went into the service and he was always there to give me a ride or pick me up from the base in his old VW bus. John was always a good friend and always was a support system. One of the best things I ever did was introduce him to Leigh John had a great sense of humor. He was always looking on the bright side of things. He will be greatly missed.

Janet:
Please accept our deepest condolenses to you and your family. Our prayers are with all of you. We miss J.C. but also know he is in a much better place now and he is at peace. We are so glad that God gave us the opportunity to meet J.C. and spend some time with him. We will miss his witty sense of humor and his laugh, as well as the reminiscing of songs. We also thank God for allowing us to meet and get to know you too. You are too much, just like J.C.!! He was also very blessed to have you as his sister! Please remember we are always here for you, no matter what!

Dear John: 

We worked together at FSK for several years and had our share of fun doing so!  You were always quick with a smile, a joke and had the most hilarious stories!  

I remember anxiously waiting for you to get in to work to help us put the salamander back in the tank, when it would sneak out for an evening expedition.  None of us girls wanted to touch it and you would always patiently put it back in the tank and look for a way to prevent another escape.

I'll always remember your kind, happy-go-lucky soul, that lit up the office whenever you where here.

Ms. Janet, by deepest condolences and prayers are with you and your family.  John was very fortunate to have you as a sister. You and your great strength got him this far.  Many hugs and blessings to you and your family.

I am saddened to hear of John's passing.  I had the pleasure of meeting him on a few occasions through Floyd, Skeren & Kelly, LLP the first time being at the surprise 60th birthday party for Tom Skeren.  John always struck me as a very sweet tempered and thoughtful man with a very kind spirit.  He will be missed and I pray for strength and some sense of peace for his family as they move through their journey of his loss.  May God bless his soul and wrap His arms around John's family in comfort.  In prayer,

I had the great pleasure and honor of knowing John for over 20 years.  I not only worked with John for many years, but he was a true friend. He was a kind, generous and humerous man.  He always had a smile on his face, and had nothing but great things to say about others.  He loved life.  He will truly be missed. May he rest in peace and his memories live on.  My deepest condolences to Janet, Robert and the rest of the Craft family.
