

Jack grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He worked for the Grand Forks Herald News Paper from the time he was a little boy until he graduated from the University of North Dakota. Jack moved to California after graduation and soon after, married his high school sweetheart, Beryl. They were married for over 50 years and raised four wonderful children. Jack worked for McDonald Douglas Aircraft and was in charge of procurement of machine tools for the entire Santa Monica plant. He has always been very proud of his Irish heritage and loved to listen to Irish music. Jack has always been a devoted UCLA fan and loved watching sports, playing ping pong, body surfing, and reading everything he could to enhance his knowledge. Jack managed Pony League Baseball for 22 years with Ray Hernandez in West Los Angeles. Jack met Judy at St. Augustine Church and they had 16 extremely special years of marriage together. He leaves a legacy at St. Augustine Church with 70 years of service in many capacities, including ushering, money counting, finance, Holy Name Society, coordinating and working fiestas, fund raising for the new Church and Church renovation, serving daily Mass, and training countless new volunteers for many ministries at St. Augustine Church. He loved to see and hear all about the activities of his four children, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was devoted to God, family, and Church.
