Josephine “Josie” Annette (Armijo) Soto passed away peacefully June 23, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving daughters by her side, at the age of 83. She was born in Denver, Colorado on June 17, 1939, to Dora Aurora Armijo (Chavez) and Joseph, Joey Armijo.
Josie attended Sacred Hearts & Annunciation Catholic High School, as well as Emily Griffith School of Business, in Denver, Colorado. She worked as an Administrative Assistant throughout her life, working for Denver Post, Investor’s Business Daily and William O’Neill Financial Service. She owned her own Gift Shop, Josie’s Gift Shop and Errand Business, “On the Go with Jo,” in Marina Del Rey, CA.
Josie was a member of the Marina Del Rey, Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Mariner’s Yacht Club.
Josie never missed an opportunity to take a spin on the dance floor. She was an avid dancer, Denver Broncos Fan, ambitious person, enthusiastic, independent and had a passion for life. Josie had an extraordinary life. She attended several football games, concerts; traveled throughout Europe, trips to Florida, Hawaii, NYC, Chicago, Utah, Vegas. At home she enjoyed making green Chile and salsa. She especially enjoyed walking the beach, sailing, sipping a margarita under the warmth of the sun and salt of the ocean and spending time with her beloved friends at PMYC. She will be warmly remembered and missed for her caring nature, bright smile, cheerful outlook.
Josie was married to Michael Atencio for 7 years and Robert Soto for 20 years.
Josie is survived by two daughters Renae and Carol. She was also loved by her stepchildren, especially Paulette Soto Alba and her brothers. Josie leaves behind numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews. Josephine has been reunited with other family members who have gone before her, also her two beautiful children (Michele & Dale) who are by her side in heaven at peace.
Josephine has requested a private Church Service as well as a Burial at Sea and by invitation only Celebration of Life in Marina Del Rey, CA, August 7, 2022, at Pacific Mariner’s Yacht Club, 13915 Panay Way, Marina Del Ry, CA 90292 from 11:30-2:30 p.m.
