Marietta Rose Lennon (nee Salario) was born May 10, 1928 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and passed from this world on October 7, 2015. She was 87 years old. Due to her keen vocal talents, she attended Villa Victoria, a private Catholic girl's school also in New Jersey, on a musical scholarship. Her parents relocated to Venice, California with her while in her late teens where she met her first husband, Arthur Bovero. They had three children. Along with her former husband, Marietta worked at the family business, Bovero’s Florist, performing various duties including flower arrangement. After her first marriage ended, Marietta went to work for McDonald-Douglas, then for General Telephone (GTE) where she spent the majority of her career. During this time, she became a licensed Real Estate Agent in the Venice/Santa Monica area. While at GTE Marietta married her second husband, Patrick, and they enjoyed singing together. She continued to use her vocal talents by becoming a long time member of her church choir at St. Mark’s Catholic Church and later at St. Monica’s Catholic Church where she also went on to teach Religious Education courses for grammar school children. She also performed at weddings, shows and other engagements throughout her life. Marietta enjoyed politics, music and animals. She is survived by her three adult children: Michael Bovero, Michele Bovero and Lisa Humphrey; six grandchildren: Nicole Lewis, Joshua Humphrey, Stephanie Stone, Jennifer Swendener, Tracie Jones and Trevor Humphey; and 10 great-grandchildren.
