Mary Ann passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 91 years. Mary Ann Colonel was born on September 1, 1932, to parents Joseph Colonel and Queen Watson Colonel in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Colonel Jr., Sisters Queen Wright, Florie Lewis, Margaret Lyons.
She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary Ann Colonel (Mamma Mary) truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with extended family members, friends, and family, snacking and spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mary Ann had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She was an extraordinary person full of laughter, love, wisdom. She was outgoing and met no strangers.
Vanessa said.
I Love each one of you for the love of Mom, Momma Mary, Ms. Mary, etc., everyone loved her in their own way.
In Mom’s words “don’t cry when I’m gone, I enjoyed my life” and we all know she did. If Mary Ann was not there it wasn’t a party.
Bye Mom you put the woman in me. It’s because of your strength of a mother is my foundation on which I can thrive.
I love you and thank you from the bottom to the top. Wear Your Crown Proudly and Rest in Peace.
Mary Ann Colonel leaves to cherish her memories, daughter Vanessa Kendrick, grandson Michael (Serena) Kendrick, great-grandchildren Treyvante, Dazmine and Maliyah,
Son Vincient (Audrey) Brock, grandchildren Carrie Phillips (Bishop Maurice Sr.), Byron Brock (Janice), Darren Brock (Lacy), great-grandchildren Anaiyah, Raymond, Ayari, Maurice Jr., Waike, Ayden, nieces Sheila & Valeria Lewis, nephew Freddie Lewis, great-great nieces Destinee and Felicia, niece Sharon, Ayesha great nieces, great nephew Shamar. and a host of nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, and friends. Extended family Sherry Green, Reggie and family. Bonnie Kendrick (Son)Kevin Brandy & Wife Tanisha and their ReeEllen Jackson, Antoinette Davis, and all their sisters and children. Mom Mary has poured into our lives and taught us to always be strong.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
