Maura Ruiz was born on August 19, 1925 in Laoag City, Philippines married to Filemon Ruiz. As a young professional, she worked as a school teacher in Samar. She migrated to the United States in May 1977 to join her Mom and sister. She worked as a bookkeeper in Los Angeles. She and her three daughters Tomasita, Hilda and Bernadette eventually moved to the United States in 1979. Throughout her life, she always made sure her family was well fed with healthy foods, instilled the importance of good religious practices, and enjoyed watching her family sing and laugh together. She is survived by her daughters, Hilda Ruiz Carreon and Bernadette Ruiz Difuntorum, seven grand-children Chad, Ivy, Trisha, Jasmine, Jill, Hilary, and Ian, and five great-grandchildren Aiden, Harper, Charlotte, Genevieve and Danielle. Today she sits in Heaven with the Lord, her husband Filemon, her Mom and Dad Irene and Natalio, daughter Tomasita, and grand-daughter Abigail.
