

Peter James Wied, 47, of West Hollywood, CA, formerly of Hales Corners, WI, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at his home. He was born November 28, 1973 in Milwaukee, WI to James and Judy (Behnke) Wied.
Peter was a gifted student, excelling in science and debate, and graduated Valedictorian of the 1991 class at Pius XI High School in Milwaukee, WI. He went on to attend Brown University for his Bachelor of Science in Physics and furthered his education at Harvard University School of Law, receiving his J.D. and being admitted to the California Bar Association in 1998.
Peter was an extremely successful and dedicated lawyer, working at several firms in California. Most recently, he was employed by the firm of Nixon Peabody in Los Angeles, CA, specializing in intellectual property law. He was known as an excellent and well-respected patent litigator, representing clients in cases before U.S. district courts, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court, as well as in international arbitration.
Colleagues and friends remember Peter as a strong and caring person who was always there to lend a hand. He was known for his intelligence, generosity, and sharp sense of humor.
Peter is survived by his grandmother Beatrice Behnke, father James, brother Scott (Lisa), sister Shari (Erik Molstad), nieces Perry Wied and Regan Wied, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He is further survived by his dear friends Dave Thompson, James Craigmiles, and Vincent Yip, among cherished others.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother Judy and grandparents Alvin Behnke, Victor Wied and Fola Wied.
Peter will forever be remembered for his kind soul, soft spoken manner and generous heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Celebrations of life will be held at a future date in Los Angeles, CA and Milwaukee, WI.
