She was my developmental pediatrician at UCLA and diagnosed my autism. My family appreciated her caring, nature, and intelligence. The world lost a good doctor.

I grew up with the Tyler family and it saddens me to here about Rachelle. She was a mentor for Ronnie and i. We attended lots of shows at Balboa high school back  in the 60's. I still think about those memories from time to time. I met lots of her friends from Lowell High and enjoyed many adventures. Rachelle will truly be missed and my prayers go out to her family. I first met Dr. Tyler in 1990. We both worked weekends at Kaiser Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic at Kaiser Sunset. And years later we crossed paths when she taught through the UCLA consortium. I am blessed to have learned so much from her. She will be missed greatly. My condolences to her family.

Rachelle Tyler was a gifted teacher and trainer for the University Consortium of Children and Families for many years. She worked with the universities and the County of Los Angeles Department of Children and Families (DCFS) to create and deliver quality trainings to help social workers and nurses better understand, assess, and work with children in foster care as well as their caregivers, including foster and adoptive parents as well as birth families.  She was a gifted trainer, always personable, approachable, knowledgeable, and a gifted communicator, so that the trainees really took away quality, useful information. I miss Dr. Tyler; the office here in Arleta will never be the same. She created a family environment. She was like a mother to us and a great Mentor. I miss passing thru her office and seeing her working so hard to continue the Early Head Start Program. I miss the wise advice she would give me. The long conversation we would have of just life.  She will always be missed, but we will have all those great memories in our hearts.

I deeply miss Rachelle's vibrancy,  support and wisdom that she has shared as a mentor, teacher, colleague and friend through the years. Her compassionate care as a physician is an enduring source of inspiration, and I am grateful for the time that I have worked with her.

I am very saddened by the passing of Dr Tyler, with whom I worked 30 years ago. She was  a dedicated, caring and knowledgeable and an advocate for some of the neediest children.

Dr. Tyler was a great asset to the nurses and foster care children in LA County. I have been in her trainings since 1994 when she used to do a series of lectures on prenatal drug exposure and drugs. Her dedication and passion for developmentally delay children was exceptional. She will be missed greatly!!!

Dr. Tyler, as a nurse you taught me so much about developmental pediatics. I loved hearing you lecture about the importance of accessing babies and children. When I became a grandparent of a preemie baby, you were so willing to see her at the clinic and you sat down to review me on what to look for as she grew. You reminded me that you were only a phone call away if I had questions. Thank you for being a special friend to me. I will miss you always, continue to watch over the babies.

rachelle was a valuable member of the department of pediatrics. Knowledgeable and compassionate. a resource to families and physicians.
