We lost our dearest Sadie far too young, but the 18 years we did have with her were unlike any other, and will always be looked at as the best years of our lives. Sadie was not only the sweetest of souls, but the funniest person anyone could ever come across. Whether it was her silly dance moves, her random screams and snarls, or her one-liners, she kept everyone constantly laughing. Sadie was beyond smart without ever having to try, usually complaining about how she was going to fail a test because she didn’t study because she “didn’t feel like it,” but then turning around and acing it. Although she didn’t like to admit it, she loved her time at Notre Dame Academy, where she met so many true friends. Her friends meant the world to her; seeing them every day was something she truly cherished.
From a very young age, Sadie had a deep passion for every creature that crawls, walks or flies. Between her two homes, she shared her space with four cats: Finn and Fiona at her mom’s, and Marceline and Lizzy at her dad’s. She was also the devoted caretaker-though she absolutely loathed being called a "pet mom"—to Majora, her Pewter Bee ball python, and Dexter Morgan, her Mexican Red Leg tarantula. In fact, her passion was leading her to UC Davis to become an exotic animal vet this fall. She was already well on her way, having just completed a veterinary assistant program where her dedication earned her the prestigious Education with a Purpose Award of Excellence.
Sadie had a love for good food, always recruiting someone to accompany her to her favorite eateries, asking her Papa or Mom to cook or bake her favorite treats or confidently whipping up her own culinary creations. She enjoyed insect pinning, listening to music (Deftones especially), and curating her extensive collection of figurines, especially her Super Sonico and Sonny Angels. She loved being around her family and was fortunate to have a large one, with many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins here in Southern California and up in the Bay Area where her dad is from. Most of all, Sadie loved gaming with her friends and sister. The house will feel undeniably empty without her random cursing at people or passionate screams of both frustration and pure joy.
We don't really know how to do this without her. The truth is, we are always going to look for her. Eighteen years was a complete cheat, but we are so insanely lucky to have been the ones who got to be her family for them. We are just going to miss her—her weird quirks, her love of pets, her music, her brilliant mind, and her beautifully loud mouth.
We love you, Sadie. We are going to miss you every single day.
Services honoring her life will be held on October 4, 2026. Family and friends are invited to reach out to the family for additional details.
