Sophie Amelia Meskey passed away on June 22, 2012 in Marina Del Rey at the age of 92. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband Pete Mesky, Jr. whom she married on May 30th, 1942. Sophie was born in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico on October 8th, 1919 to her loving parents Antonio Romero and Crusita Martinez Romero. She moved to California more than 70 years ago. She is survived by her beloved family, daughters; Lucille Marie Cappas, Kathleen Marie Mason and Dominique Patricia Walsh; grandchildren; Kimberly Marie Wilson, Michael Alexander Cappas, Celeste Bianca Winders, Justin Cregar, Gabriel Cregar and John Walsh, Sr. and her Great Granchildren; Veronica Cappas, Alison Cappas, Emily Wilson, Jason Wilson, Mia Sophia Winders, Nasir Sadiq, Raihaan Sadiq and Za'id Sadiq.
Sophie was in the fashion industry for over 60 years as a Seamstress. She was very active as a volunteer for many years at the Culver City Senior Center. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 30th, 2012 at Noon at Gates Kingsley and Gates Smith Salsbury in Culver City.
