

Stanley McKenzie, of Los Angeles, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, after an extended period of illness. Mr. McKenzie was born on March 17, 1926, to the late Clair McKenzie and Sydney Tingling in Jamaica, West Indies.
Stanley came to the United States as an entrepreneur of the culinary profession. His two restaurants Stan’s Kite, one located on Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles and the other in Inglewood were both prominent and blooming businesses. One of his attributes was donating food to needy families.
As a Catholic he joined St. Bernadette’s Church in 1975 under Fr. Gorman. Stanley had a zest for life and befriended all he met; he was always friendly and jovial. He traveled extensively visiting siblings and relatives. Stanley was a connoisseur of foods and also enjoyed his hobby of purchasing automobiles.
Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 28 years Gertrude McKenzie whom he married on June 28, 1988 in Los Angeles, California; his son Audley Tingling of Los Angeles, daughter-in-law Gladys Tingling ; son, Arlene Tingling of New York; daughters Lorna Tingling of Orlando, Florida; Beverly Tingling of Montreal, Canada; his sisters: Maggie Turner of London, England, Carol Young Kelly of Melbourne, Florida; Ming Tingling of Jamaica, West Indies; his brothers: David Pennycooke of Jamaica, West Indies, Roy Tingling of New York; Eight Grandchildren, God Daughter, Ashley Pearl Monroe of Los Angeles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
