Born in Dalhousie, NB, Carl was the son of the late Nelson Mockler and Adrienne Belanger.
He is survived by his two children Michele Mockler of Halifax, NS and Carl Mockler Jr of Dalhousie, NB, his brother Donald Mockler (Anita) of Montreal, QC, his brother Lou Mockler of Point-la-Nim, NB, his sister Betty Anne Pitre (Roy) of Campbellton, NB, his sister-in-law Georgette Mockler of Balmoral, NB and many loving in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Carl was predeceased by his wife and soul mate, Yvette Pitre, in December of 2009 at which time he felt a great loss. They had been married for almost 46 years. He was also predeceased by his brother, Douglas Mockler of Balmoral, NB.
Carl was employed as a benefits officer in the Dalhousie paper mill for many years where he loved working and helping others. He was a true people person with a great sense of humour as he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His quick wit was appreciated by many including the staff at the nursing home.
For years, Carl could be found tending to his garden and flowers in his well-manicured backyard. He also had a passion for physical activity such as walking, swimming and working out at the gym. Carl was very musical since he played the piano for many years, sang in barbershop quartets and choirs. He thoroughly enjoyed everything surrounding cooking as well which many were fortunate to experience.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Villa Renaissance nursing home for their unsurpassed care, kindness, professionalism, and hard work provided during our father’s stay. It is beyond appreciated and will never be forgotten.
A funeral Mass will be held at the St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie, Friday August 9th at 11:00 am.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Dalhousie, NB.
