He was born in Dalhousie on February 17, 1933. He was the son of the late Gustave and Rosa Duguay.
In his youth Ernest enjoyed playing hockey and watched hockey on TV for many years. His favorite team was the Montreal Canadians. He worked at the Dalhousie Paper Mill his entire career. He was active in the Golden Age Club and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He and his wife, Marjorie, enjoyed line dancing, square dancing and ballroom dancing. He especially enjoyed his family.
Ernest was the husband of the late Marjorie (Guitard) Duguay. He is survived by his 5 children: Roderick (Francoise), Janet (Ralph), Joyce (Paul), Donna, and Deborah (Sheldon); his 7 grandchildren: Shanna, Tyler, Kelly, Candice, Andre, Jacques, Eric and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Juliette, and his two brothers Maurice and Richard.
A funeral service will be held at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on Friday, September 15th at 3:00 pm.
