Guy was born in Dalhousie on December 26, 1934 to the late Kenneth and Marie Anne (Caissy) Letourneau.
He leaves to mourn his loving children, Andy (Lise), Chris (Joyce), Derek (Sonia), Jason (Josée Rouleau) and Kirby, his beloved grandchildren, Jennifer (Luke) Gauthier, Stephanie, Jonathan (Veronic Malley), Jeremy and his great-grandchildren Lauren, Avery, Joel, Jayden and Mason. Guy is also survived by his brothers Edward, William (Aline), his sisters Frances (Reid MacPherson), Lillian (Walter Thompson) and Joan (Paul) Robinson, as well as brothers and sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a very special place in his heart. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Myrna Ahad and Deanna Blanchette.
Guy worked as a paper maker, was an avid fisherman and athlete, enjoying hockey and ball. He sculpted logs off the beach creating his Creatures of the Sea like those displayed at the Inch Arran area. Guy’s greatest joy was spending time with all of his family, always teasing and telling tales.
His family would like to thank the staff of the ICU and Palliative Care Unit for the compassion and excellent care given to Guy. Also a special thank you to his home care worker, Corrina, who took such great care of our Dad.
Donations to the donor’s choice in Guy’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral mass will be held at the St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie, Saturday November 24th at 11:00 am.
