

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Mike Arsenault, age 58, on Sunday June 19th at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Mike leaves behind his beloved wife Debby (Née Surette) and his adored ``girls`` Michelle, Danielle, Lise and Josée.
He is the youngest of 6 children of the late Edmond Arsenault and the late Lilianne Cormier. Survived by his siblings: Father Yvon, Yvette (Jim Garland), Louise (Bob Beers), Donald (Renée Née Normandeau) and Maurice, he leaves to grieve many nieces, nephews and family friends.
Mike completed his undergraduate degree in Physical Education at the University of Moncton in 1975. He went on to move to Dalhousie NB to embark on a career as a teacher and coach at LER school and Dalhousie Middle school. Being himself an athlete and a sports enthusiast, he shared his love of games and sports with his students. M Arsenault, dubbed ’cool teacher’ was greatly admired and much loved by coworkers, students and the community at large. Since 2007, Mike had been enjoying a well deserved retirement and daily walks with Debby and their dog Mica.
Mike will be fondly remembered as a fun loving joker and family man. Although a private man, Mike would gather close friends and family to his infamous DJ contests and dance parties. He loved to share his passion for music and his wonderful sense of humor with the people lucky enough to have known him. Mike was at his happiest at home surrounded by his family.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday June 22nd from 7pm to 9pm, Thursday June 23rd from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9pm at Maher`s Funeral Home, 421 Victoria Street Dalhousie. The funeral will be held at the St Jean Baptist Church Friday June 24th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the IWK.
