Peggy Jean Russell

Peggy leaves to mourn her daughter Donna (Shawn) Hickey, her son David (Julie) Rioux, her sister Gail (Gerald) Pitre, her brothers Gary (Pauline) Russell and Bruce (Madelaine) Russell, her many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her father, Truman and her mother, Winifred.

Born on April 26, 1949 in Dalhousie NB, Peggy was an avid baker and cook and was often found in the kitchen trying new recipes. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and gardening. Peggy loved the Christmas season, especially Christmas carols and would always bake and cook in excess to ensure everyone had plenty to eat. Peggy had always dreamed of visiting Ireland and was particularly fond of Irish music.

Peggy was a very kind and gentle soul and we know that she is now with her mother enjoying the rolling, green hills of a greater place.

A memorial service will be held at Saint John Bosco Church on July 10, 2018 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
