

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Stewart Henry of Dalhousie, which occurred November 28, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit at the age of 84. Born November 12, 1931 in Cornerbrook, Stewart was the son of the late Leslie Henry and the late Alice (Mahon).
Stewart is survived by his wife Ferne (Butland); sons Hugh (Elizabeth) of Pointe Claire, and Jeff (Judy) of Toronto; grandchildren Dr. Jason Henry of Jackson, Miss., Alexandra Noseworthy (Phil) of Fredericton, Graham Henry of Toronto; and brother Donald of Kelowna, B.C.
Stewart graduated from Mount Allison University and Nova Scotia Technical College with a degree in chemical engineering in 1956, and enjoyed a long and successful career with Canadian International Paper and New Brunswick International Paper Co., culminating with his appointment as mill manager in 1981. After retiring from NBIP, Stewart maintained a diverse consulting career.
Stewart cherished his family and took great pride and interest in the activities and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. An ardent sports fan, Stewart also enjoyed travelling with family and friends, and spending holidays together with loved ones.
A memorial service will be held December 1 at the St. John’s United Church at 2:00 pm in Dalhousie with Reverend Kent Gibbons officiating, followed by a reception in the church hall.
Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 421 Victoria St., Dalhousie, Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
The family would like to acknowledge the tremendous care and compassion provided by the staff in the intensive care, medical care, palliative care and discharge planning units of the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
Donations to the St. John’s United Church or to the donor's choice in memory of Stewart would be appreciated by the family.
