Douglas Alan Gholson Sr.

Douglas Alan Gholson Sr. passed away unexpectedly September 20, 2015. He was born October 13, 1962 in Gaston County. Doug will be remembered as a Christian man who loved his family, was a hard worker, an avid hunter who loved to spend time outdoors. He was a manager at Colombo USA. He was an ordained Deacon, Sunday school teacher and served in the van ministry at church. All who knew him will remember his infectious laughter, his ability to make people smile and love of life.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 34 years, Ann Gholson of Lincolnton; children, Mandy Tauras and husband Alex of Belmont, Douglas Alan Gholson Jr of Lincolnton; mother, Gloria Gholson of Dallas, NC; grandmother, Ruby Stillwell of Dallas, NC; brothers, Keith Gholson and Deb of Tuckasegee, NC, Bruce Gholson and Amy of Mocksville, NC and Brian Gholson and Joy of Dallas, NC.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, William Gholson and brother, Steve Gholson.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 24 at Hardin Community Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Riverview Baptist Church in Lincolnton. Pastor Clayton Ledford will preside.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Dallas Funeral Home.
