Ethel Bowers Nettles, 93, of Bessemer City NC passed away peacefully on July 22nd, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born on September 2nd, 1932 in Bryson City NC, Ethel was the daughter of late William and Artie Bowers.
For 93 years, she was the heart of her family; a source of comfort, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love for many generations. She lived her life with a deep and unwavering faith in God, sharing his love through her kindness, compassion, and the way she cared for those around her. Her faith was a guiding light, and we find comfort knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Ethel is survived by her daughter; Betty Hatfield, Son; Bo Dean Nettles (Tabitha), granddaughter; Tammy Mahaffey, four great grandchildren; Mikayla & Mikenzy Nettles, Dylan & Shela,
along with 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband; Jack Dean Nettles, Daughter; Brenda Ann Nettles, and siblings; Willie, Cecil and Frankie.
Visitation for Ethel will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Carothers Funeral home of Dallas, 212 W Main St, Dallas, NC 28034. Graveside service for friends & family will be held on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 at 2:00pm at Westview Garden1123 Edgewood Rd, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
