George was born February 5, 1929 in Jefferson County, TN to the late George and Flora (Rainwater) Gray. George retired from Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was a faithful servant of the Lord. His family will always remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-nine years, Stella Dockery Gray of Cherryville, NC; children, Jeffery Lyn Gray and wife, Sharmie of Gastonia, NC, Janice Ann Franz and husband, Charles of Cherryville, NC and Deborah Zamaria of Grand Prairie, TX; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by eight siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Dallas Funeral Home in Dallas, NC. Reverend Kevin Crumbley will offer words of encouragement to the family. A graveside committal will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Dandridge, TN with Reverend Gary Gass presiding.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home in Dallas.
