NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Joan Bundy Ramsey Benoy, 65, of Little River Neck Road, passed away Jan. 13, 2013, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Evelyn Bundy. Mrs. Benoy was a member of Fraley Memorial Baptist Church, retired from Wal-Mart and Winn-Dixie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Brice Ervin Ramsey Sr; sister, Rachel Bundy; brothers, Cecil Bundy, Sam Bundy, Marcus Perry Bundy and Dennis Bundy. She is survived by her husband, Paul Roger Benoy of the home; children, Selena Barkley and husband Robert of Cherry Grove Beach, SC, Dorothy Willis and husband Jack of Stanley, Tracy Watts of Gastonia, Brice Ervin Ramsey Jr. and wife Janet of Stanley, Lisa Benoy Ayers and husband Doc of Gastonia, Kayren Morrison and husband Stephen of Weddington; sisters, Jane Thornburg and husband Daniel of Albuquerque, NM, Brenda Halk of Dallas; brother, George Bundy and wife Brenda of Lincolnton; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Bundy, Sarah Bundy of Dallas, Joyce Bundy of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Jennifer Buchanan, Jake Watts, Jonathan Watts of Raleigh, Jerrod Watts of Gastonia, Catlin Barkley of Cherry Grove Beach, South Carolina, Lucas Willis of Stanley, Breahna, Stephen, Jr., Cassie and Gabrielle Morrison of Weddington; great-grandchildren, Dillion Caudle, Nicholas Buchanan and Tesla Long of Raleigh; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church, 3025 Fraley Church Road, Gastonia with Dr. Warner Doles officiating. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dallas Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Brice and Janet Ramsey, 400 Stanley-Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia. Pallbearers will be Brice Ervin Ramsey Jr., David Bundy, Rick Bundy, George Bundy, Daniel Thornburg, Reggie Halk, Billy Halk. Honorary Pallbearers will be all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Heart Society of Gaston County, 1201 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, North Carolina 28054. Condolences may be made online at Dallas Funeral Home is serving the Benoy family in a Carothers tradition.
