Kim's Family And Her Friends Were Her Highest Priority... She Was Generous And Loving To All Who Knew Her...Kim Was Greatly Loved And Will Be In Our Hearts Forever and Ever...

Kimberly Ann (Mann) Grinsted, 54, went to be with her Lord on June 15, 2018, at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, after a sudden illness.

Kim graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1982 and received her BS in Business from the University of Nebraska in 1987. She contracted as a business system analyst for various insurance companies before joining Protective Life Insurance Company permanently in 2013, where she worked until the present.

Kim, her husband, Jon, and daughter Madison resided in Clearwater, Florida, until December of 2017, when they moved to the mountains in Blowing Rock, NC. Kim was generous and loving to all who knew her, and her family and friends were her highest priority. She enjoyed traveling, here and in Europe, especially to Jon’s native England, and to France and Italy.

Kim is survived by her beloved husband, Jon, and daughter Madison of Blowing Rock, NC, and Nicola Grinsted Kelly and husband Wade of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; parents, Donn and Cathy Mann; brother, Jeff Mann and wife Christine, all of Lincoln, Nebraska; niece: Grace Mann, of Van Nuys, California and beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kim was greatly loved and will be in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life service will be held August 3, 2018, at 11:00 am at Horizons Community Church, 3200 Grainger Parkway, Lincoln, Nebraska.

There are no words. Grateful for Kim reaching out to me from Australia this morning with the news of her passing. The years dissolve over a cup of coffee with tear filled eyes as I reminisce of our time together. MTV was the new must have and she had it and we danced & dressed to our latest favorite. We were close, laughed and cried over boys we mistook for men... we were young with so much in front of us. This hurts as I'm certain we were to meet here again. She spoke of her daughter and sent videos of her playing guitar and singing... she wished for me to meet her. I wholeheartedly expected to meet her one day soon, perhaps when they were back in Florida as my sister and her family recently moved there...
I'm so very sorry for her family... as I am for all of us who hoped to see her again in this life. You leave us knowing it is as fleeting as it is beautiful... these days are not to be squandered... until we meet again I will do my best to live in the moment.
I'm certain we shall see each other in the next life... God is good.
