Mathalena T Bell

Gastonia – Mathalena Taylor Bell, 86, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Robin Johnson House.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sarvis Iven Bell and her 13 siblings.

Survivors include children, Jean Poole and husband Gary Poole of Dallas, Ruth Ferguson and husband John Ferguson of Dallas; grandchildren, Angela Vincent and husband Frank Vincent of Dallas, Annette Stroupe and husband Chad Stroupe of Dallas, Tisha Langill of Lincolnton, and John Ferguson and wife Wendy Ferguson of Sherrills Ford; great grandchildren, Christa Caviness and husband Ben Caviness of Boone, Taylor Gary of Lincolnton, Lauren Wooten and husband Cody Wooten of Fairfield,California, Seth Stroupe of Dallas, Wesley Stroupe of Dallas and Abby Ferguson of Sherrills Ford.

A funeral service will be held 1pm Friday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Per Larsen and his staff at Caromont Family Medicine and to the Wellington House for the wonderful care she received.
