To the Holmes family, My husband and I really enjoyed time with Rick at the Country Kitchen. He will be missed by all. We had a little ritual going on that when he came in he always throwed me three kisses and he would always raise his arm real high on the last one. Our prayers and sympathy, David and Alice Powell

Tracey, and the entire Holmes family, What a blessing it has been for me to have known Mr. Holmes. His upbeat personality and positive attitude always brought a smile to my face when I saw him. This world is a better place because of him and his memory will be long remembered. My prayers are with each of you.

Warm Summer Sun
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

Rick (Chief Holmes) will be missed greatly. I always looked at him as a father figure. I loved to hear his stories of when he was in the service since I was in the Navy a short time also. I know he was tough, but fair. I salute you Chief Holmes. Now you and your Wife can be together. I know you Loved her very much.

In all my travels during my military career and during my life I have never met a more upstanding, respectful and likable man as Rick Holmes. During the too short time that I knew Rick we came to share stories of each other's experiences in our respective branches of the armed services. I will forever treasure those moments and stories. Rick's wit was clever and sharp and he possessed the ability to completely catch one off guard with his sense of humor. He was the man I most respected above all others and a comrade-in-arms and Veteran's Day will not be the same without him. It has been a pleasure and honor to have shared a part of my life knowing this exceptional man.

My Sweet Daddy, You were not only my father but my best friend. I am so deeply saddened by you going home to heaven, but I do rejoice in my heart that you know Jesus and are with HIM now. You are no longer suffering the pain in your body, or have the burden of enduring any more cancer treatments or testing....you have been set free! Glory to GOD! I know you are also reunited with Mom, the love of your life! I take comfort in knowing that I will be reunited with you both and many of our loved ones one sweet day! Daddy, I am so blessed to be your daughter! You are so amazing and have always been there for me and my brothers. You were always a good provider, leader and so thoughtful of others. You are so missed already! When you walked in the room many smiles followed! I surely will miss your stories, your phone calls, your visits and just spending time with you. I will forever cherish you and Mom as my parents. I am a blessed and lucky girl for having you both as my parents and in my adult life, my best friends. I love you forever and a day! See you over yonder! Jesus Reigns!! My Love Always, Tracey Lee Holmes <3
