My family has so many happy memories of this fine lady- Sara High, I worked at The Gaston Gazette 41 years and had to work closely with the post office as I was responsible for paperwork for mail subscriptions. She was so helpful, so friendly and knew my mother-in-law Dot Wallace who worked in newsroom. Years after she retired she would call or come into the office just to chat. She was always bringing a small gift, cookies, card etc. My upcoming retirement made the front page of the paper in Oct and she sent me a flower with a special note to keep in touch, Then she wrote the sweetest letter postmarked Nov 7th . She told me about her bad accident on Feb 27th. Also one of her family members, Rev Fred High was my pastor for many years at S Marietta Bapt Church. She gave me a letter once and sent me a school picture when she was young, Her birthday was the same day as my stepfather Dalton Rayfield, Feb 1 0th so I had it on my calendar and I would put her in a happy ad every year on her bday with that picture. It was so special the flowers for my retirement the stories she would tell and the great lady that I know her as. Rest in peace, my dear friend . Denise and Walter Wallace

Sara was one of the first people I talked to when I started at the post office. She was friendly and very helpful. She always had a smile and you could always depend on her to help you if you needed help. Rest in peace my friend!
