Born and raised in Dallas, North Carolina, Tim graduated from North Gaston High School in 1980 after which he began a career in machining at Gibson Machine Shop and Freightliner, and eventually information technology at Daimler before retiring as an engineering tech at Sherrill Contract Manufacturing. Tim would eventually move to Columbia, South Carolina to be close to his sons, and would spend much of his last few years enjoying his time with both of them.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents Charles Barnard Taylor “CB” and Evelyn Carter Taylor of Dallas, North Carolina; brother Lanny Taylor of Dallas, North Carolina; sister Teresa Taylor of Stanley, North Carolina; and niece Valerie Hamilton of Hickory, North Carolina.
He is survived by his sons, Ethan Taylor of Columbia, South Carolina and Jonathon Taylor and wife Susana Taylor of Lexington, South Carolina; his former wife and dear friend Sarah Taylor of Gastonia, North Carolina; sister-in-law Anita Taylor of Dallas, North Carolina; as well as nieces and nephews Todd Groves and wife Dora Groves of Ranlo, North Carolina; Christy Gentry and husband Bobby Gentry of Cherryville, North Carolina; Sarah Pfeffer of Charlotte, North Carolina; Tamera Breidenbach of Fort Collins, Colorado; Hope Gibson of Oceanside, California; Nicholas Groves of Ranlo, North Carolina; Hollyn Gentry of Cherryville, North Carolina; and Ian Gentry of Cherryville, North Carolina.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Gaston Memorial Park.
