Violet Lee Turbyfill Ledford

Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”

Violet Lee Ledford, 72, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2015. She was born May 9, 1943 in Mitchell County, NC to the late Stephen and Mae (Buchanan) Turbyfill.

Violet is survived by four sisters, Virginia Sorrells and husband, Bill of Mars Hill, NC, Rachel Turbyfill of Hickory, NC, Ruth Gross and husband, Charles of Spruce Pine, NC, Willie Cowan and husband, Gene of Hickory, NC; a special niece and nephew, Stephen Ray Ward and Melanie Ballard of Asheville; honorary sister, Carol Layden; very special sister-in-law, Judie Bess Barker and husband Ron of Clover, SC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jim Ledford.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Hardin Community Baptist Church in Dallas, NC. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Bear Creek Baptist Church in Bakersville, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
