Windy Ingle Parker passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC, after a courageous year-and-a-half battle with colorectal cancer. Born on April 7, 1962, in Gaston County, Windy was a native of Dallas, North Carolina.
Throughout her illness, Windy remained positive and held on to her faith in God. She talked a lot about meeting Jesus and being reunited with close loved ones. She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh that no one could forget. She had many friends and family that loved her dearly, including the community relationships she made as a member at Grace Baptist Church.
Windy graduated in 1980 from North Gaston High School. She went on to attend Cameo Beauty College to obtain her cosmetology license right after high school. Windy was a hairdresser for nearly 40 years and worked at Hair Quarters in Dallas before becoming ill. She loved doing hair and brought so much joy to her clients as she formed lasting friendships with them and their families. She was a previous resident of Stanley, NC for more than a decade where she started a family with former husband William Parker. She became a nurturing presence to many neighborhood children and families, offering care and warmth that extended far beyond her own family. She cherished holiday celebrations, creating magical memories for her daughters, family, and those around her. Her presence and love will be missed dearly as we lay her vessel to rest and celebrate her soul reaching eternal life in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her mother Glenda Smith Ingle, father Lawrence Douglas Ingle, grandmother Cordy Kirksey Ingle, grandfather Lawrence Wesley Ingle, and brother Chad Garrett Ingle.
Windy is survived by her sister Megan Ingle of Gastonia; three daughters: Linsey Parker of Dallas, Meredith Parker of High Shoals, Madison Adams of Gastonia; and five beloved grandchildren: Cooper Queen, Ezekiel Kaylor, Piper Queen, Veda Parker, and Charlotte Tolodzieki.
Windy will be cremated in accordance with her wishes by Carothers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m, with receiving friends to follow, on Friday April 25, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Road, Gastonia, NC 28054, officiated by Pastor David MacEachern and Marline MacEachern.
In honor of Windy's memory, the family welcomes donations or floral tributes to be sent to Grace Baptist Church. May her light continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
