Dorothy “Yvonne” (Williams) Bundy, 84, of Dallas passed away peacefully on Friday February 12, 2021. Yvonne was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was the neighborhood mom and she often “taxied” people to places they needed to go. She was an avid sports fan and and a “sports mama” who attended all her children’s games. Yvonne was a gifted seamstress – even making wedding dresses. She had a green thumb growing both vegetables and flowers. She was an excellent cook often using canned crops that she grew in her garden. When Yvonne was younger she was a Girl Scout Leader in Gaston County. She loved camping and going to the mountains. She was the kind of mom where everyone in the neighborhood gathered at her house. Yvonne will be missed by her family, friends and all that knew and loved her.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, James “Cecil” Bundy and her mother Annie Ruth (Boyd) Williams. Yvonne was the last of four siblings. Her sisters, Joyce Blake, Charlotte Ferguson and brother Richard Williams all predeceased her.

Left to carry on the legacy of Yvonne and to cherish their memories are her daughters Sabrina Bundy (friend Ellen Byrd,) Stephanie Carpenter, Melanie Van Opstal (husband Chuck) and son David Bundy (wife Sandra). Missing their grandmother are three grandchildren, Rick Bundy and his wife Alea, Mary Glover and Zachary Carpenter as well as great-grandchildren Logan Bundy, Bailey Carpenter and Jamey Glover. Missing their aunt are many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service and committal will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday February 17, 2021 in the Garden of Time at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia. Chaplain Sally Herlong will officiate and offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends that gather to remember Yvonne. Her son David Bundy, Charles Bundy, Rick Bundy Zachary Carpenter, Logan Bundy, and Brice Ramsey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Reggie Halk and Billy Halk.

Condolences for the family and fond memories of Yvonne can be left at www.carothersfuneralhomedallas.com.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Yvonne’s name to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas TX, 75284-0692 or www.heart.org.

The staff of the Dallas Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bundy family.

From the very first minute I walked in Yvonne’s house,
she treated me like family. That’s how she treated everyone...
Walking in her yard and her greenhouse, hearing about the different flowers, was always a treat...
Hours spent at her kitchen table, eating fabulous home cooked meals, sharing stories and laughing a lot, are some of the best memories of my life...
Fly free wonderful angel... Love you forever...
See you in just a while...
