OBITUARY

Abel "Bubba" Villanueva

February 14, 1964January 6, 2019

January 6, 2019, Abel Villanueva was surrounded by family as he stepped out of this world and into the arms of Jesus. This precious man leaves a vital legacy of unconditional love and joy.

Abel was born on February 14, 1964, to Gilbert and Oralia Villanueva in Dallas, Texas. Though Abel was a child born with Down Syndrome, his parents determined he would never see himself as a disabled person. And he never did. Abel’s siblings embraced him, and affectionately called him Bubba. He attended school just like his brothers and sisters, worked at a warehouse facility, and lived a happy, enthusiastic life. He made others happy too. At gatherings with a large and loving extended family, Bubba greeted everyone with a heartfelt hug. He enjoyed showing off his latest dance moves with his nieces, nephews and cousins, and he was delighted to break into a spontaneous duet with his Dad. He is survived by his mother Oralia Villanueva and siblings Sammy and wife Tommie, David, Steve and wife Kim, and Judy. He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert, and brothers Gilbert Jr, Paul, and Ricky. Throughout his life, Bubba’s infectious zeal and love touched the hearts those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by many, but most of all by his dedicated mother. She not only gave him the ability and confidence to live a full and rewarding life, but she also taught him to impart love and hope and courage to others. Psalm 139:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

The Villanueva family would like to thank their family and friends for their outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

Tia, David, Judy, Steve and Sam,

I am so sorry to here about Abel’s passing. Although, I am sad, I can only think of the joy and laughter that Bubba gave all of us! His sweet smile and the way he looked at all of us when we would come into your family home was so warm and genuine. Or how he would “photo bomb” pictures and videos before “photo bombing” was cool. He was ahead of his time for sure, his headphones, love of music, shorts and sneakers year ‘round, and who can forget his humor! He was a legend! I’m sure heaven got a little bit funnier and more exciting with Bubba and Tio and Betito and Pauly all back together! Rest in Paradise Cousin! xoxox

Aye mi Tio,

I love you very much, I will always miss walking to your room to give you a hug n kiss soon as we got to papos n grams. Seeing you jammin the radio through the headphones listening to RAP or watching wrestling. All of us messing with each other at the table, seeing you dance at gatherings knowing you could hear the music when tio sam would bring the house down. You getting in trouble with Grams, you n papo messing with each other, even kicking us all out your room when we were lil playing tag or hide n seek. One of my great memories was when i went with my sister to visit grams a couple months ago and it was time for bed, you almost lost your balance while walking and i told gma Ill go to tuck you in. I walked you to your room and layed you on your bed fluffing your pillow and flapping your blanket over you. You looked so peaceful and fragile to me it reminded me of my own children that im blessed to tuck in every night. I gave you a big hug, kissed your forehead, rubbed your hair and the look i seen showed me relief like a long day after work HAHA. Ill never forget that. I love you MI TIO Papo, My dad and tio pauly will be waiting.... Until I see you again.

Your nephew, Joshua
