Abelardo Narvaez Narvaez, 86, passed away October 17, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. He was born April 24, 1937 in Palomas, Armadillo de los Infantes, San Luis Potosi, SLP Mexico to Baldomero and Herlinda Narvaez. Abelardo was raised in the aforementioned place. Mr. Narvaez attended one year of basic training in the military and married Maria Magdalena Narvaez in 1965. The couple had four children and he served as a machine operator for GAF Corporation for more than thirty years.
Abelardo came to the United States in the Bracero Program when he was about eighteen. He was the first in his family to leave Mexico so that his family could have better opportunities. Although he did not attend a formal school, he was a self-educated man. He learned to read and write on his own. He would have celebrated his fifty-eighth wedding anniversary this year.
In his spare time Abelardo enjoyed taking long walks, watching movies, shopping, thrifting, studying English, along with deepening his faith in God and the scriptures. His family and friends will always remember him as hard working, having a deep faith in God, being a great protector, provider and a family man. He was very thoughtful with extended family in both Texas and Mexico. In fact, one of his dreams was to have a big house to welcome family from Mexico getting their start in the US. He achieved all his American dreams. Because of him, now, his children and grandchildren also have the opportunity to live their American dream.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Jose Narvaez, Margarito Narvaez, Angel Narvaez, Amado Narvaez; sister, Lorenza; parents, Baldomero and Herlinda Narvaez.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Magdalena Narvaez; children, Herlinda Narvaez, Samuel Narvaez, Baldomero Narvaez, Angelica Narvaez; sisters, Maria del Refugio Narvaez N, Graciela Narvaez; approximately thirty nieces and nephews along with approximately one hundred fifty great nieces and nephews.
