He was born in Robstown, Texas on June 20, 1941, to the late Pedro and Concepcion Garza. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Dora Elia, daughter Victoria Munoz, sons; Joe, Richard, and Ruben, and daughter Norma. 13 grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole, Simon Anthony, Laura Anne, Melissa, Joey, Amber, Ruben Ray, Emily, Victoria, Gama Jr., Naomi Mara, and Paula. 10 great grandchildren, Brianna, Joseph David, John Adam, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Jon Paul, Jacob, Sophia, and Daniel. Along with 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
He was a man of many talents, he traveled and worked as a migrant farm worker when he was a child, helping to support his family. He later worked as a heavy machine operator, mechanic, and excavation technician.
He was a gifted storyteller, a wisecracking funnyman, and he knew how to carry a tune. He was also internet savvy, and with a little help, he taught himself to text. He was a top notch chef, making the best tamales, menudo, and beans in town. He never stopped learning or inquiring. He was one of the smartest and wisest men we will ever get to know, he graduated with honors from the “School of Life.”
He is a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. For he was a loving and adoring husband, and a true family man, where his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He had the biggest heart, the most beautiful smile and sense of humor, and the best hugs and kisses.
Words can never really express how much he meant to us, or how much we love and adore him, we will miss him dearly. He always wanted us to learn and do better. One of his last lessons is being taught today, for today he is teaching us to “take it one day at a time.” We will see you later “viejo”, “apa,” Grandpa Adam._MB
